Kyle had his first taste of meat today!

Boy, it is scary how fast the pace my baby is growing. He has now upgraded to semi-solid foods and had his first taste of pork porridge today. And he loved it! Usually when he ate his cereal, he would all sorts of funny moaning sounds. But today, he was absolutely silent when I fed him and he seemed truly happy to be eating his porridge. Good job baby!

Yo yo yo, baby Kyle in the house!

Woon loves to play it rough with Kyle and he seems to enjoy all those funny stunts.

Today Kyle and I had lunch with Selly and Grace at MOF @ West Coast Plaza. He was a little grumpy as he was awoken from his nap. He only wanted to sit in the Bumbo seat for less than 10 minutes before he started moaning. Selly, Grace and I had to take turns carrying him around while the rest of us ate.

Happy Birthday Po Po!!!

We celebrated my grandma's birthday on Sunday at the Imperial Treasure restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. The restaurant was well decorated and stylish looking with its corridor overlooking the MBS Casino. How cool is that. Yi Yi bought Kyle a tuxedo-printed bib from Hong Kong. It definitely suited the occasion well, though he looked slightly overdressed compared to the rest of us.

TGIF!!!

Yesterday was a busy busy Friday. Firstly, Woon's workers were over to change our old cabinets. Secondly, I was having lunch with Stella & Akira. Lastly, I was meeting PTPS gang for the Grad Course Dinner of Course Code 88888.

Woon's workers were at MTP almost the whole day, removing our old cabinets, putting up our new ones and painting the room. It was a one day makeover as Woon puts it. And the results were brilliant!! A new room in a day!!

Our new mirror!! The bigger the better!!!

At 1245pm, Stella come to pick us for lunch!!! We went to the Olive Tree at Intercontinental Hotel. It was really an experience for us!! 2 mummys & 2 lil moo moo babies, out together eating buffet. Hahhaa!! As we ate, we fed the boys, played with them and entertained them.

Wat's for lunch?

I am happy with my toy..

Can you handle 2 kids Auntie Stella?

Guess who I am?

Thanks Stella for fetching and sending us home. We had a fabulous time and the boys were co-operative. We will do it again sometime!

The highlight of the day was definitely meeting up with my PTPS kakis @ Sunset Grill, Seletar Camp. This place is so damn hard to find but so damn crowded. Luckily we booked and managed to get a table inside.

After trying level 2, 5 and 10, we decided to hack care and try the level 30 buffalo wings. Which I really regretted later.

This was before I tucked into the $5 chicken wing.

This was in between, with lips swollen & tears almost forming.

What was left of my buffalo wing. They said mine was the most cleanly eaten. Maybe I deserve 2 certs instead.

For all my suffering, I got my cert!!

The truth is eating the wing was not a problem. I ate it in less than 3 minutes. Even the next 5 minutes after eating the wing, when the hotness & numbness of the chilli starts settling in, is not a problem. What made me regret eating that level 30 chicken wing was the terrible tummy upset I had, 1 hour after eating that wing. And the pain lasted more than 5 hours. I could not sleep!!! The pain would come suddenly, intensify, and then slowly go away. Then the cycle would come again. And was repeated for no less than 5 hours. I was literally lying on my tummy, crying to Woon for help. Having endured childbirth, I have to say it was about 10 stages less painful than that. It was incredibly intense menses cramp pain. And I would never do it again. But I am still proud that I did it once in my life. ;)

Kyle has a runny nose while Cleo has an itchy throat..

Although many say babies who are breast fed seldom fall sick, my little boy has fallen into the minority. Kyle's nose has been running and we have brought him to see his pediatrician (which cost us a hefty $75!) who has given him 2 doses of meds to be taken before and after feeds. His runny nose has caused him difficulty in breathing through his nose and has affected his appetite as he seems to be running out of breath while sucking with his mouth. Sigh. His breathing is also unusually loud and he sounds like he is snoring when he sleeps. We try not to wipe his nose so often so that it will not hurt.

Meanwhile, I have also succumbed to the bad weather, lack of sleep and recent spread of flu viruses. My throat is so itchy, I feel like putting my hand in and scratching my throat. I do hope that I do not fall sick though my nose is beginning to feel a little stuffy. Fingers crossed, praying that mother and son will be well.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

This is the first Mother's Day I am celebrating and boy was it a busy day!!!! We started the day by having lunch with my in-laws at this super packed branch of Sakura @ Admiralty Park. There were so many people packed into the restaurant, it was so stuffy and warm. I do not know where they managed to find these extra tables and stools, but they really maximized the capacity of the restaurant. There were people sitting everywhere, it was a little difficult to move around with plates piled with food.

Being a mummy is no easy feat!

After lunch, we met my parents at SICC for a swim. Well technically, only I swam while Woon and Kyle merely had a dip in the water. Hahaha! Still, my boy had lots of fun playing with water and could not bear to leave the pool.

Trying to catch the water!!!

I wonder what Kyle is looking at?

Kyle & Po Po

We ended the day with a little 'date', leaving Kyle with my parents at home. We watched the long waited Iron Man 2 @ Cineleisure followed by our fave "The Best Fish and Chip" @ Fish & Co. Really yummy!! Both Robert Downey Jr and the fish & chip. ;)

I have finally started blogging...

Yes, after almost six months of procrastinating, I have decided to heed Kelly's advice and REGISTER A BLOGGER ACCOUNT!!! Hahaha!! I had wanted to start a blog when I was pregnant with Kyle. He is almost five and a half months old now!!

Well, people do say time flies when you are having fun. With a wink of an eye, Kyle is almost half a year old! Although I do enjoy my new role as a full-time mum, I can attest that this role is definitely NOT a piece of cake. For those people out there who envy me and think that my job is "shiok", please do reconsider your stance. Staying at home does not mean that I do nothing and sleep at home the whole day.

Being a SAHM (Stay-At-Home Mum) means that I have to be on 24 hour stand-by, every day to care for my son. That means waking up at least 3 times a night for night feeds, carrying him in my arms for most part of my afternoon and attending to all his cries throughout the day. No weekends, no off days, no holidays. So please do not think that I am not working. I feel I am working harder than when I was teaching. Hahaha!! At least I had uninterrupted sleep then. Now, having a total of more than 4 hours of sleep a night is a luxury. And it very rarely happens.

But no matter how hard it is, I really love being a mother to Kyle and to have the opportunity to see him grow during the first year of his life is indeed a blessing. A heartfelt appreciation to my hubby Woon for his support so that I can embark on this wonderful journey. I will do my best to be a good mother, lov. ;)
