Kyle's first MRT ride

Yes, I bravely took Kyle on his first MRT ride alone. My conclusion is 1) Kyle does not like MRT rides and 2) MRT commuters are not as considerate as bus riders. Kyle fussed on both his MRT trips; from Commonwealth to Bugis and from Bugis to Kembangan. The train ride from Bugis to Kembangan was especially tormenting for Kyle as there were so many people on the train during the peak hour rush home. And nobody offered their seat to me though there were many seats reserved for mothers with young kids. Boo!

After dinner we went to Jojo's darts pub and baby was grouchy when he was awoken from his nap

Finally asleep again, yeah!

Kyle's first visit to Auntie Selly's new place

As the holidays are here, Selly is officially as free as I am. Haha! So I decided to bring Kyle over for a visit to her humble abode at Farrer Road. A session which lasted from 11am to 5pm! Do not ask me why I stayed so long but time just flew by. We chat chatted, played with baby, had lunch, chit chatted some more and watched the DVD Valentine's Day together. This was followed by a short trip to the supermarket and picking up Amanda and Aidan, before Selly sent me home. Thank you Selly for keeping Kyle and myself company today! We had a wonderful time.

We love you Auntie Selly!

In the evening, we went to Jojo's darts pub to support Shirley and Ice as they tried to qualify to vie for $500. Only 3 pairs qualified tonight and I am proud to say that SHIRLEY & ICE QUALIFIED!! Good darts gals!! You really killed all the noisy uncles tonight!!

Good darts Kyle's Godma!!

Kyle was a babe magnet, much to the delight of his dad who was carrying him when Ice started playing

Playskool gifts from godma

Kyle's godma bought him some learning toys from playskool and boy, was he attracted to the colours of the toys. Even though they were still in their boxes, Kyle wanted to grab them and put them in his mouth. Haha! Thanks so much godma, I think these toys will keep Kyle busy for awhile.

Busy Balls Terrific Textures supposed to help babies explore different textures through touch and helps train their focus on the colours when the balls roll.

Butterfly Rattle

Animal and Fruit Flash Cards

Busy Chase N Crawl Duckies helps motivate babies to crawl towards it as it rolls away from them.

Kyle intrigued by his new toys

All they really all for me?

When can I open them mummy?

Kyle's first swim in his thermal swimming costume

Kyle looking very serious

Today, my mum and I brought Kyle to Auntie Aleece's house at 2nd Ave for a swim in her pond-like pool. My silly boy fell asleep in his swimming costume on the way to Auntie Aleece's house. As always Kyle enjoyed his swim, but the material of his thermal swimming costume seemed to hinder his kicking a little bit. He was not kicking as vigorously as he normally would.

How do I look?

Looking a little blur from his nap

I thought he would be uncomfortable in his costume but he seemed to like it

He loves standing on Po Po and pursing his lips like that

My GSS Buys

June is the season for shopping as the Great Singapore Sales are here!!! When I was still working, I used to hate shopping during sales as I felt that the things on sale were not that attractive and it was always so crowded during the sales period. But ever since I became a SAHM, this thinking has transformed. I now LOVE shopping during sales. Especially when you are able to go to a store early in the morning when the store has just opened for business. That is when you can grab the best deals.

This is so true for brands like Kate Spade which has wonderful discounts of 30% to 50% with an additional 10% discount for Takashimaya Card holders. But the trick is you must go EARLY and grab all the nice designs cos if you go after work, all that is left are the less popular designs. When I went to Kate Spade at 10am in the morning, there were so many Japanese ladies with KS bags in one hands and toddler or stroller in the other. It was as if the bags were free! And when I went back during lunch time, there were long queues of people waiting to enter the store, waiting to get new stock and waiting at the cashier. It was crazy in there but the discounts were so so so good, no woman could resist to buy at least one bag.

My damages since GSS started less than 1 week ago, are a Kate Spade bag and a pair of River Island jeans. My hips have grown so much after childbirth, I cant wear any of my old ones anymore.

I have longed for this bag for so so so long!
Thanks to my laogong and Caryn!
Bought from Paris, $138

Kate Spade Barrow Street Anabel original price $470
30% discount + additional 10% discount = $296.10

River Island 2. look amazing jeans original price $115
50% discount = $55

With the GSS lasting one month, I am looking forward to more good buys hopefully from Mango and Zara. ;)

Theories on having a girl..

I have heard of a few theories on how you can "plan" for a daughter or a son and was thinking about which ones may work for me.

Theory 1
If you want to have a daughter, daddys should wear tight underwear.
If you want to have a son, daddys should wear loose boxers.

Theory 2
If you want to have a daughter, adopt a daughter or have a god daughter.
If you want to have a son, adopt a son or have a god son.

Theory 3
If you want to have a daughter, 'make it' towards the end of mummy's ovulation period.
If you want to have a son, 'make it' towards the beginning of mummy's ovulation period.

Theory 4
If you want to have a daughter, daddys become vegetarian.
If you want to have a son, daddys become a carnivores.

Okay so looking at all these theories, Theory 1 seems possible though Woon is a fan of boxers. Theory 3 is also possible as my ovulation cycle is quite routine. Theory 4 is like OUT, as Woon is a rather huge fan of meat. Now for Theory 2, it may not be possible for me to adopt a daughter at this point of my life. But to have a god daughter may be possible. Too bad most of my close friends do not have kids, those who have kids already have god parents for them. Dajie, RS, Cavis and Grace, if you are reading this, JIAYOU!!! I would like to be the godma of your daughter. ;) As for when I will have my second kid, I am waiting for Agnes Wong who is getting married in November. Haha!

Kyle is 6 months old today!

To celebrate Kyle turning 6 months, I took him on a bus ride on my own to have lunch with his godma, Shirley, near her office at Albert Complex. My son totally enjoys bus rides as it gives him an opportunity to sleep. Haha! He fell asleep on both bus journeys, to and back.

Thanks godma!
